Katelynne Newman
Katelynne Newman is a young Canadian artist making her debut into the arts and crafts business world. Her teenage years were spent at local craft guilds selling wares such as quilts, honey and concession- now it's time for her to start selling her own art! Originally from Orleans, ON Katelynne is still navigating this new community of Victoria. BC where she moved two years ago for University where she is taking Art Education, Secondary Level.
There is a great emphasis on the natural world, specifically the equine aspect in Katelynne's work. Horses have always had a great impact on Katelynne's life and they have taught her the most important of life's lessons. Through her art, Katelynne (and by extension her mare, Triska) wish to extend the value of these lessons and share them with others.
A current theme that Katelynne is interested in is that of 'Home'. Her birdhouses and curriculum projects have revolved around this dynamic theme since 2011, so expect it to spill into her current work as well!

Cathy Newman
Cathy Newman has spent the past 20 years as a stay-at-home mother to two children, Katelynne and Kyle. She filled the hours her kids were at school with various crafts and sewing projects before settling on the quilting arts. Cathy is a part of numerous local guilds and is a proven quilting instructor.
Cathy was born in Pine Falls, MB but spent her childhood in countless cities across Canada with her parents and two younger sisters. She has lived in even more Canadian cities as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces including Winnipeg, MB where she met her husband David, before retiring as a Captain. She considers Victoria, the City of Gardens, her home.
Cathy is not currently following any specific topic of her own interest but
is keeping up with the trends. After so many years of creating, the amount of finished projects are nearly overwhelming. It's time for her quilts to find their new homes.
